My students are in a 12:1:1 classroom. They have been together for five years and are excited for a new year and new start! My students are all learning disabled, but are full of energy and excitement. They are well-behaved and love science and math. Our school is a Title I school with every student receiving free lunch.
Learning disabilities do not keep my students from achieving their goals.
They work extra hard to keep up and they enjoy learning new topics.
Our special education classroom needs a new classroom rug. We are currently using a very small rug that not all of the students fit on. This will usually lead to arguments over who gets to sit where. Having a rug that is too small also means that students do not have enough space to sit with a whiteboard or notebook.
A new classroom rug will lead to more participation and teamwork.
We use our classroom rug for whole group lessons, as well as partner work and small groups. The classroom rug becomes another meeting space to promote teamwork and togetherness.
