Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a 12:1:1 classroom. They have been together for five years and are excited for a new year and new start! My students are all learning disabled, but are full of energy and excitement. They are well-behaved and love science and math. Our school is a Title I school with every student receiving free lunch.

Learning disabilities do not keep my students from achieving their goals.

They work extra hard to keep up and they enjoy learning new topics.

My Project

Dogman, Captain Underpants, Super Diaper Baby, and Ook and Gluck are huge crowd pleasers in this special education classroom. My kids can not get enough of these books and because of this the books are worn, torn and ripped. These books add adventure and excitement to out D.E.A.R time (Drop Everything And Read). We have set up a schedule and sign out sheet, specifically for these popular books. We are planning on doing an author study in June and would love to add Dav Pilkey into our plans.

Please help add some excitement and laughter to our special education classroom with these books!
