Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is made up of students with intellectual and physical disabilities. The abilties vary from requiring 1:1 support to those needing a shared para. Some of my students are verbal and some have little to no communication. The supplies that I am requesting will support student engagement at all levels and help me to continue creating hands on learning for these students. They come to school everyday eager to learn and work hard each day to learn skills that will support them for everyday life in and out of the classroom. These supplies are necessary for academic and social/emotional success in my classroom. As wellm many of my students are involved in Unified Sports and Best Buddiesin which I am the advisor and coach to both extracurricular acitvities annd these supplies can help with those clubs also. All children should be given the opportunity to learn and play a sport. As well, parents with children of special needs should have the opportunity to see their kids on a team and cheer for them. These students love Unified Sports and the basektballs requested will support their weekly practices as we currently do not have enough for each child. Your support will be greatly appreciated not only by myself but also by the students I teach.
