My students are in a social behavior program. This is a self-contained, special education setting. My school is a Title 1 school and most of my students' home situations are extremely unfortunate. The beginning of the school year is difficult as many of the students' families are unable to afford school supplies and the needed materials for the school year. This usually leaves the expense to the teacher (myself). My students' are fun, loving children that just need extra support and love in order to overcome their behavioral challenges. I would love for my students to have a "calm down area" where they are able to go take a break when it is needed. Please help fund my classroom so that my students can have the greatest amount of success this school year!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my student's learning because it will give them the materials they need to create projects, crafts, and display their work. In my cart, there are noise blocking headphones. These are needed in order for my students to stay in the lunchroom and on the school bus. The loud noises often make my students over-stimulated which leads to behaviors.
Supplies include materials for decorating the classroom (boarder sets) and helping the students succeed to the best of their ability (staples and Expo-markers).
I want my classroom to feel like a home away from home for my students. In order to do this, I am in desperate need of some supplies.
