Help me give my students access to remote learning materials, such as number and letter practice books, math manipulatives, and dry erase boards to meet their accommodations.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students require hands-on learning tools during this pandemic. I will be administering online lessons and it will be extremely beneficial for them to have tangible learning materials that we can use while we are connected via video conferencing. As a special education teacher, I want to ensure I am providing them with materials that will positively impact their remote learning experience. With this interesting time in our learning, I know that with their mindsets, they will be able to make strides in their learning even when they are away from the physical classroom.
My Project
Hi! I am a Special Education teacher in Washington, DC. My scholars are very excited and eager to learn. My goal with the project “Learning Remotely” is to provide students with resources that will support their basic skills. The handwriting practice books will help my students with letter and number formation. The unifix cubes will help with counting and basic math concepts. The crayons, markers, and pencils will supply them with tools they need for writing and being creative. The vision I have is to create an “education care package” in which they receive all of the materials in this project and I also provide instructions to families on how they should be using and how often they should be using materials. The great thing about the tools in this project is that they will last very long and do not have to be replaced. From my experience in using all of the items on the list, they are very academic supportive, and child friendly to use.
