Our after school program is designed to accommodate children with special needs and children who have learning delays in more than one area of development.
My children are very unique in character.
The children in my class come from a lot of the less fortunate families in the area. Due to hurricane Michael, these students have seen and been through a lot. Some still homeless. They are the most loving children you will ever come in contact with. They are so eager to please in any way they possibly can. The children in my care are treated as if they are my own.
My Project
Children with activity limitations are often referred to as having special needs. This simply means they are unable to participate fully in age appropriate activities.
By allowing my children to receive these items my special needs children will feel as though they are just as engaged as my fully functioning students.
These students will empower more self esteem as well as feel they are just as active as everyone else participating in activities. This in turn will cut down on behavior problems and improve social skills. Students with special needs benefit from a quality learning environment. This will allow them to experience a meaningful and genuine sense of belonging.
