Help me give my students everything they ever wanted in a classroom. A microphone to speak and hear clearer. Organization stations to create a clean and safe environment, ensuring the students there’s enough materials for everyone.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Baltimore has some fabulous first grade students. My students realize that first grade is a really important step in their educational journey. Not only are they fabulous, but they are social- emotional learners, eager to learn new things, effective communicators and risk takers! All of them are a joy to meet, reach and teach. They get me excited about teaching.
My students also face community challenges living in Baltimore.
From poverty to homelessness, students show their resilience every school day.
My Project
Each learning material will enhance the students ability to feel safe in their classroom. Student safety is the basis of their academic career and so is cleanliness and organization. Student voice is becoming another factor in student success. Allowing them to use a microphone builds confidence and dominance over the words they speak. We will teach and spread diversity through images in the classroom and the regular place that children gather, the infamous classroom carpet. When students see their name clearly and are able to pick their leveled book they’re building their vocabulary and background knowledge all the while building their confidence, practicing fluency and achieving goals.
