My Students

Third grade is a pivotal age in a child's life. They are emerging from being a "little kid', to a "big kid'. They have positive attitudes and want to be an important part of their world. Third graders are eager to learn and like to share their ideas with others. They are curious and have an excitement to learn. It is critical at this age for these students to build confidence and inspiration to set the tone for the rest of their schooling.

My Project

My hope is to obtain a PA system that I can use daily in my classroom. I am committed to giving my students numerous opportunities to share their ideas, stories, problem solving strategies (etc.) with their peers. Also as I teach the writing process, I would like to give each student a chance to read their rough drafts out loud and have their peers help them with their edits. The only problem is their tiny voices can't be heard without a PA system. In order to help students' build confidence, I would like them to become accustomed to speaking into a microphone so they can convey their thoughts boldly and have their thought process validated by others in the classroom. This will also help achieve my goal of creating a strong, supportive, classroom community.
