Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 11th and 12th grade students are studying small business enterprise and economics where they are applying their knowledge from math and English into real world applications. Using technology, such as a computer, to gain financial literacy, is critical to their advancement in life.

My students have special needs and range in age from 16-18.

Many students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and speak English as a second language. They are striving to be viable in the workforce and be financially savvy. Many will earn the first high school diploma in their family.

My Project

My students need another classroom computer to learn financial literacy. Currently we have two computers and that could make this project very difficult to complete during class time if everyone is waiting. The speakers will help students in the back of the room hear for group presentations and teacher presentations.

Your donations will help my students to explore current market conditions and how the financial markets influence our economy.

The skills they learn about how corporations work will hopefully transfer into their understanding of their own individual financial responsibility to manage their money in the future and be contributing members of society.
