Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students at my school are energetic and fun-loving children. My school is an inner-city school in which the diversity of the students represents our community. Our students work super hard, and they love to explore, discover and learn.

In addition, we are located near Ft.

Bragg and have many military families transferring in and out of the school. All students receive free breakfast and free lunch. I have focused a great deal of attention on creating a strong and interesting reading selection for our all-stars at our school!

My Project

Schools today spend a great deal of time on Math and Reading. Not much time is spent on Spelling. One of my favorite toys as a child was my Speak and Spell made by Texas Instruments.

My Media Center is set up as a Learning Space with areas for study, play, experiments, and reading.

I would love to add Speak and Spells to my collection for students to come in and build their skills while having some fun. I will continue to add to my collection to make this the most exciting library in my district!
