My students come from a neighborhood that's very connected. Many of my students have parents who went to our school as children and I am one of them! Our roots run deep, and everyone takes pride in that.
At our school 100 percent of our students get free breakfast and lunch.
This has been a blessing this year, since many more families are needing more financial help.
We are also at max capacity! I have 20 students this year! My students are sweet, inquisitive, and very excited to try new things.
My students are also very diverse in their learning needs. I have students on grade level, below grade level, gifted, ESOL, and the list goes on. I hope to reach each student and help them achieve their own personal academic goals.
My Project
My classroom needs a POSITIVE update. I want students to walk in and know they are special. I found a great idea from Teacher Created Resources that will do just that.
This new classroom theme and environment will help remind students everyday that they are special, they are loved, and they are unique.
The materials I have asked for are items from Teacher Created Resources and it´s everything a teacher needs to change up their classroom. (A new calendar, labels, etc.) However, there is something special about this theme. It is nothing but positive! It´s called ¨Confetti¨ and its colorful and glittery because it´s a reminder to students that they SPARKLE. One of the items I have requested is nothing but positive messages that can be put all over my room. That way, no matter where they look, they can be reminded that THEY SPARKLE. THEY ARE SPECIAL.
I believe that this positive environment is what makes kids excited to come to school.
