My Students

EL stands for Excellent Learners! My English Learners give their best every day to learning English. Like any other student, they have personal experiences, challenging home lives, and traumatic struggles. Unlike native English speakers with these backgrounds, my ELs are learning academics AND language at the same time.

My ELs come to school tired and hungry, but they show up every day because they want to become better learners.

They understand hard work and commitment and they bring that every day.

My Project

The Amazon Fire Tablet is the perfect size for young learners. My ELs do not have access to technology in the classroom. With all the apps and games available on the Amazon Fire Tablet, they will be able to practice skills taught through apps such as Lexia, Raz Kids, abcmouse.com, and epic! The Amazon Fire Tablets will lend nicely to center work as they are engaging for all my learners.

While I am working with one group of students, others can grow their independence and literacy skills at the same time by practicing skills previously taught.

Their fluency and accuracy rates will increase significantly by practicing 10-15 minutes daily in the classroom.
