Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This school year, I am teaching smaller groups for both 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. I will be supporting students for both reading and math.

I hope to build a love of reading and math by including the use of technology to spark interest in learning new information.

Centennial is a Springfield school with around 400 total students and over half qualify for free/reduced lunch.

I am currently borrowing technology Chromebooks from other teachers and would love to have some available in my classroom.

I have had fun getting to know my students!

My Project

I would love to have a Chromebook to help my students build stronger skills in reading, language, and especially math using specific online websites/apps.

Technology is a very successful instructional tool to help students read to learn and build math skills, because it helps build their intrinsic motivation.

My plan is for at least half of my students to have access to a Chromebook, if funding becomes available. If this is granted, I plan on using specific online websites/apps to meet the needs of my students. Some of these websites/ apps track my students’ progress so I can share results with their families.

One of my main goals is to increase motivation which helps with learning new content and for my students to feel successful. I want to build a love of math and reading
