Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our elementary school is a Title I school but it also has been recognized for the dual language academy. It is an honor to be part of this school as a dual language teacher. With the well known disaster that Hurricane Maria cause to Puerto Rico, we are receiving a lot of new students in class. I am one of the lucky teachers to get this student population because of the dual language program we have, mostly concentrated in Spanish speakers.
My Project
With Hurricane Irma and Maria and the disaster it caused recently to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, the school is receiving a lot of new students with broken hearts and willing to make their lives happier. The classroom needs science and Spanish reading books as well as math materials to go alone with our dual language program. Every little effort counts. This is why I am asking for all donations possible to fund this project. The students will be excited to see what New materials we are getting to continue with their daily instruction. Thanks for all you can do to make our project possible.
