My Students

My students are a unique group of 5-6year olds. They are culturally diverse and most have been in the dual language program with the same cohort group since Kindergarten. My students work hard e This range of learners makes our classroom a safe place where students are encouraged to learn in different ways, using diverse tools and accommodations are available to all. My students each bring unique prior knowledge and experiences that we value and integrate into our class discussions. This is a truly magical place where everyone feels safe, accepted and successful. Our class model is "Hard Work Pays Off", and that is what we do each day!

My Project

Our students love listening to stories, but we don't have any magazine which would allow us to explore real-life issues and diverse genres. Spanish magazines are going to give our students grade appropriate articles in Spanish which is a high need area in our program. The English Magazines will offer age-appropriate articles as well.

I believe that these magazines will offer motivation our students need to read in both languages.

The storage options will allow us to organize our magazines and our classroom tools. The magazine storage will be useful in organizing the magazines by tables and will make it easy for students to find their own magazines each month.
