Mrs. Zamorano from Denton TX is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

Spacious Sturdy Stools

My students need sturdy stools to be able to use their space efficiently when working in groups or doing hands on activities versus using chairs that take up too much space in a limited size classroom

My Students

In our STEM and math class, learning occurs by doing. We often do hands on activities and group projects to learn the engineering design process and automation/robotics. In my robotics classes, we begin each day taking our tool boxes out and our engineering notebooks and begin the project of the week or continue with our current project. In our math class, they are led in lecture and then engage in a cooperative learning activity. Both of these type of classes are very engaging and require constant movement.

My students are very energetic and visual learners that have a hunger for learning.

I teach at a Title I middle school. They come from all walks of life. All of which have a love for curiosity in which they want to know how math and engineering are related to their lives and the real world.

My Project

I teach at a Title I school that is in the beginning stages of implementing a STEM program. My classroom is very limited on space and contains computers all around the classroom with working tables in the middle. The chairs take too much space in the classroom and prevents my engineering students from being able to move around when working on hands on projects and building robots.

It is extremely important that the students have room to move around and sit comfortably.

It is very important for students to be comfortable when working on projects, so that they can give 100%. I am very passionate about implementing the STEM program and my school and even with limited space, the stools can make a difference. If I am able to purchase 24 stools for my classroom, it will help save space and create a more spacious, comfortable environment for my students.
