My students are amazing. Every single day they amaze me and I sometimes forget they are FIRST GRADERS! My students come from so many different backgrounds. Being from a lower poverty level school area I want to make my classroom into a place my students look forward to coming to every day. I love seeing their eyes light up when they walk in every morning.
We work to build a great sense of community that welcomes all students to our "home" for fun, learning and care!
In our class we love to do activities that allow us to move around the room! Our school is centered around STEAM projects and we love to become scientists, artists and engineers.

Every morning my students come together for our morning meeting! A sense of community is extremely important to us!
A larger rug would allow us to commune comfortably every day!
I work hard to make my students feel at home. Our classroom is a place where students can forget their troubles and feel a sense of belonging.
Currently our classroom rug is an adequate size but the students feel quite cramped. This can lead to rising tensions when focus should be on our lesson or conversations at hand.
