This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are unique and come from different backgrounds and upbringings. Unfortunately, many students experience difficulties after they leave school each day. These obstacles were made worse after Hurricane Harvey ravaged and destroyed many areas of our city. Our school became a sanctuary for most of my students because it is place where they feel safe and experience consistency.

Although, my students face adversity daily, their resilient motivation to learn is astonishing and inspiring!

My goal is to provide the world-class education these students deserve!

My Project

My students need an area for guided math and reading. Often times, we work on the floor or use a bulky table that does not allow me to reach and assist students. When Hurricane Harvey hit last year, many of my students lost a lot of personal belongings and some students even lost their homes. By having a consistent and effective classroom, many students find our classroom to be a safe place where they can learn and grow. Please help us by providing our class with a resource that will assist in reading, math, and writing instruction. This table will be used daily!
