My students need materials to help them learn about space! They need books, building bricks, a magnetic solar system, and an iPad mini to discover and explore!
What would you do if your teacher was an alien? You could ask this question to my imaginative class of 23 third graders, and you would get a variety of creative answers. They love learning about space. They want to know more, they want to discover and explore!
I am so lucky to teach 23 energetic and amazing 3rd graders!
They come from many different types of families and cultures, but they all have one thing in common-they love school and they want to learn! I am grateful to live in a community that embraces differences and works together to make our school a safe, happy, and welcoming place.
My Project
My students are crazy about space. They will read the National Geographic book cover to cover and share everything they have learned. They will be able to use building bricks to create their own spaceships, planets, or solar systems. They will use the magnetic solar system to see where the planets are in relation to our sun and to each other. They will be able to do lots of research on the iPad mini. They already love Google Earth and want to learn more about stars, constellations, and the phases of the moon. All of these materials will help satisfy their curiosity.
The iPad will help the students explore and research and learn more then I could ever teach them from a text book.
The hands on building bricks, magnetic solar system, and book will give them the opportunity to learn about the future and will hopefully drive them to want to study more about science and our world.
