My students need a center for word work. This center has all of the space needed to keep materials at hand for my students to independently practice their spelling rule.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you began to read? My students learn many phonetic rules in a year that gives them the foundation to become great readers. With the help of a teaching center, they can not only be introduced to the phonetic rule, but have a chance to master the rule!

My students are a high energy, multi-leveled group, that requires a lot of differentiated instruction in order to meet each individual child's need.

Our school is a small K-12 school with only one section of each grade. Our school is like a family and we take pride in our community.

My Project

My students learn different phonetic rules each week. This center will give them the opportunity to individually practice each skill during our center time. This center uses hands-on skills to work in small groups or individually. My classroom is designed for small group areas and this space saving center will benefit my classroom as it is smaller than the rest of the classrooms in my school.

It is our job as educators to make sure we reach all of our students and give them the skills needed to become excellent readers!
