I have a classroom of wonderful students. They are high energy, curious, thoughtful, and talented Kindergartners. We are a family of learners.
My students love to have fun and love to learn.
They are excited with every new skill that they develop. My students encourage one another and come to school ready to work hard. Our classroom is in a higher poverty area which means many students have limited exposure. We have lots of conversation about concepts to build vocabulary daily. As a teacher I work hard to encourage creativity by incorporating the arts into lessons. We also include lots of movement in our classroom.
I am in a new classroom this year with limited storage space. I have lots of great books that I have collected over the years and want students to be able to access all of them. These shelves will give me space to take the books out of storage and place them in the hands of students. I already have the tubs and am ready to put them on the shelves so all students can find a book that they love.
The love of reading needs to start early and there is no better time than Kindergarten!
You don't need to help us fill the shelves; we just need the shelves and we can fill them!
