My students need a printer, printer ink and paper because they are learning both content and a new language, and showing them a colorful visual representation will definitely help them make the connection.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These kids are wonderful students who come to school to learn and explore. These are kids who not only have the opportunity to learn different content but are also learning another language in an academic setting. They have so much potential to become great professionals in the future, but, we teachers need to guide them in the right path.
As a teacher, I want my students to come to class motivated and wanting to learn, to explore, to share, to grow.
They are very smart kids who need to be given the opportunity to make their learning more accessible and enjoyable.
My Project
In Texas nowadays, most of the student population comes from a Hispanic background. They come to school in the United States wanting to learn and to be able to go to college. As a bilingual teacher, I know these kids not only need to learn the required TEKS (Texas Essentials Knowledge and Skills) but also learn academic vocabulary in both languages.
With this project for a printer, printer ink and paper, my goal is to be able to create lots of visuals and sentence stems so my students can see and make the connection between new concepts and language to their native language and prior knowledge.
