My students need these instruments to help them create a more authentic musical experience. The square rugs will help with classroom management to keep the room safe and aid in learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from all different backgrounds, yet meld together at school to make the neatest student population. We have multiple languages spoken at school, and all our kids work together to make sure everyone is on the same page and nobody falls behind. One of the easiest places our newcomer students can fit in is music. Music is a universal language and offers comfort to students who may be struggling to adjust to a new school or language.
Our school has a thriving music program, but not enough instruments to go around!
With over four hundred students and our rapid growth, our young school has grown faster than the music inventory. If we were able to acquire some more instruments we could give students a real music experience that they are sure to love!
My Project
The wrist bells in this project will be for Kindergarten - 2nd grade students and will be most useful in December. There are 40 ordered so that every student will have a pair. The claves will be best used for adding authentic sounds to Latin music. many of my students have family from
Latin America so this is a way to help them connect to their heritage.
The carpet squares will be used to help create seating charts that can be moved and adjusted by class. They will also give the students a small barrier between them and the floor. The beanbags will be used for various music games that get students up and moving in the classroom!
