This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is comprised of over 400 students from diverse backgrounds. It is a small, tight-knit community where students and parents are greeted with a welcoming smile each day as they enter the building. Most of our children walk to school, and they come ready and eager to learn. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. We have some of the most talented artists, scientists, historians, musicians, and mathematicians you could ever hope to meet! We are considered Title I, and our children receive a free breakfast every morning.
After breakfast, our students begin their days with community circles where students and teachers work together to build relationships with each other and create an environment that makes every child feel valued and appreciated.
Following that, they begin their academic day. The project donations we have requested will help them to start their journeys as successful and productive members of our community.
My Project
These books already have a "home" in my classroom. I just need your help getting them through the door.
My Kindergarten students have made such great progress with their reading already.
I want to make sure their incredible growth continues. Please help me to continue to develop life-long readers with lots of highly engaging books for my students.
I am so excited to see their little faces light up as they are introduced to countless books that they might not otherwise have access to. I can already visualize how enthralled they will be on all their new reading adventures. Thank you in advance!
