In all my years of teaching, I have never come across a group of students who are so outgoing and proud of their class work.
My students are energetic and excited about all things Language Arts and their eagerness to share their discoveries and research surprises me every day.
I am so unbelievably fortunate to have a group of students who already understand the concept of sharing and respectfulness and the knowledge that my class is a safe zone.
I envision Apple HomePod being used in my classroom to facilitate fast research that can be accessed verbally from every corner of the room. I see my students using the HomePod to check definitions and spelling while they improve their own skills. My students will improve their writing skills and also their understanding of technology and coding through ITTT (If This Then That) programming (Home-kit).
Many of my students do not have access to advanced technology outside of school and by supporting this project, you will be enriching the lives of many under-privileged children.
My Project
A typical day in my classroom starts with a writing activity and free thinking about a topic that connects to the upcoming Language Arts activity. Very often there is classical music playing in the background and we are also involved in open ended discussions that would benefit from an Apple HomePod.
My students come from a diverse background and also represent diverse learning abilities.
Our school is academically focused and believes in challenging and motivating our students so they are prepared for a future in which they think on a global level and they contribute to society in a positive way.
