I am writing on behalf of The Worcester Public School students in need of art supplies within their homes during the Corona Virus Crisis.
The school district is a high needs area and during this difficult time, children who are quarantined at home have little to no supplies with which to make projects.
Public education is a right and the teachers of our district art department want to make sure that we continue to support the students however needed.
Students have reached out to their art teachers for help. And we intend to fulfill their wishes.
My Project
During the current Covid 19 quarantine, the art teachers of The Worcester Public Schools would like to continue to emphasize the importance of creating art. We believe that now more than ever art has the power to bring us together even as we are distancing. Art has the power to remind us of our humanity, soothe our worried souls and express our unique time and shared experience of this world.
Many of our low-income families lack even the basic art supplies with which to create.
Our team of art educators has started to construct individual art kits to deliver to student homes. We have run out of supplies and are looking for help in our endeavor.
