Help me give my students an opportunity to have new experiences in their general music class. Music instills an appreciation of fine arts, creativity, as well as teamwork and unity for all of our students. Our general music classes are made up of students in our elementary campus.
Our students are growing musically stronger each day and love to perform.
They instill their love of music by learning to read music, singing songs, and applying that knowledge by performing music on recorders, drums, and keyboard percussion instruments. Now, I would love to teach them about cultures around the world by singing of songs and playing ukuleles.
My Project
Our general music classes will be learning about rhythm, note reading, and music of other cultures through performance on their new ukuleles. Our students love music and love to perform. Help me introduce them to new music literature of songs from various cultures. By performing ukuleles in the general music classroom, we will not only be teaching our students the basics of music but also increasing their fine motor skills and coordination, learning to work as a team, teaching students about other cultures, and instilling a passion for instrumental music.
Our students will travel musically around the world.
The ukuleles will give our students an opportunity to perform on instruments and sing songs they otherwise might not ever have the opportunity to learn. The new books will teach songs from Hawaii, Polynesia, Java, and other island cultures.
