My Students

Have you ever needed to take your work home with you? Often this happens to my students, but with few portable storage devices available, they are unable to save their work to take it home.

We are nestled in the gorgeous Appalachian mountains.

However, for some of my students, that beauty comes at cost, poverty. Due to a lack of local industry, we are a high poverty school with many of our students benefiting from the free/reduced price lunch program and the free breakfast for all students program.

My Project

We are in the process of switching to Chromebooks and are extremely excited! However, many of my students do not have Internet access at home and in order to be able to access what they need to do any work necessary outside of school, they will need the flash drives to store all necessary files. We switched from a wired mouse at each station to a wireless one last year, but hadn't realized how many batteries this was going to take! We also need batteries to keep our stations running effectively.

My students are used to not being able to complete their work at home.

So if they miss a day or need to leave my class early due to athletics or other school activities, they fall behind and it is difficult for them to catch back up. This will enable them to take their work home on the flash drives and complete it using their home computers or the library computers.
