Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Don't limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, you can achieve." -M.K. Ash I tell my scholars that they need to reach as far as their imagination takes them. After that, all they need is the right tools.

My students are not just ordinary students, they are scholars.

They not only make me smile, but anyone who comes into my room shares the same feelings I have about them. These scholars may not have all the material possessions at home, but when they come to school, they know it will be a warm place, with hot food and a loving environment. They know that their curiosity and their questions will never be turned away, but focused on to make it a reality. My scholars have drive, creativity, passion and endurance. They do not let the stress of standardized tests get in the way of their passion for learning. Everyday they come in with their own questions and opinions, that it makes learning and teaching so much more fun with participation! Basic classroom problems arise, "My pencil broke", "Where can I sit to read?"and so on. However, when the students do not have enough money for extra pencils or a sharpener, we have no room for a carpet with all the desks, it makes it hard to move on.

My Project

With these amazing materials my students will no longer have to worry about where they will put their precious books that they love so much, it will be right behind their seat! No more noise when moving our chairs to partner up because of the chair socks. My students won't need to manually sharpen their pencils, not with our brand new electric one! When it is whole group learning time, they won't have to sit on the cold, tile floor. They will each have their own little personal seat to stay warm and off the floor. My students get so excited when I read to them, imagine if they heard a whole chapter book come to life by listening to it during center time. My students are going to be able to utilize every product and I just know that they will be smiling from ear to ear!

I can already see the sparkle in their eyes when they receive these products.

It is not every day that these students get new school supplies or things that they can call their own. I try my best to always supply as much as I can, but there is just so much they need and can use. Each of these items, as small as some may seem, will improve their interest in lessons, with each other and all in all just make them feel happy and loved. It will remind them there is good everywhere in the world.
