Solving Real World Problems One 3D Project At A Time

My Students

My students are all students with academic, behavioral, social and functional needs. Our classroom is a 6th grade special education classroom which focuses on modifying academics to meet the needs of our students. We also teach real life skills, such as cooking, measuring, and counting money.

Real world and hands on experiences help our students grow the most.

We are always looking for fun and creative ways to give our students functional skills and the opportunities which allow them to make connections to learning.

My Project

A 3D printer within our special education classroom will allow my students to solve real life problems through physically creating the solutions. 3D printing technology allows students to be creators. They are learning to be inventors instead of always being the consumer.

3D printing is a technology that is being used to change our world.

I want to put that technology into the hands of my students and allow them to find and solve problems within our school. They will learn teamwork and problem solving as they are set loose on a real world problem. I am so excited for them to learn and grow, while developing skills which will make them job ready someday.
