My Students

My students are middle schoolers who love to learn through hands-on activities. They come into class asking what we are doing each day and hope it’s something that sparks their creative side.

By the end of the year, my seventh and eighth graders are the ones that run the class!

They walk in, look at the plan that's on our whiteboard and go to work, which usually means following the steps of the Design Process. The students have a good amount of self-motivation and want to succeed. If they are struggling, they know they need to work backwards to see why their project is not going as planned.

This year, students are working virtually for the entire year so engaging in quality lessons that involve teamwork is critical.

My Project

Having students use these digital resources will provide them with wonderful opportunities the entire year. Students get to practice being a leader and to practice their problem solving skills. Every puzzle is tied to a content standard so students will have a chance to improve their reading level as well.

Each digital puzzle that they complete can also improve students' social and emotion well being.

Since my students are working virtually all year, they need more opportunities to work together and have fun. While they complete the puzzles, students get to practice their communication skills while working in a virtual group via Zoom.
