Soft Starts Set Us Up for Success!

Help me give my students opportunities for hands on learning that sets their day up for success!

My Project

Each morning, our routine starts with putting away our belongings, choosing our lunch, eating breakfast, and exercising. I have implemented “soft starts” to ensure each child in my kindergarten classroom can have a successful start to their day. Soft Starts are tubs that students get each morning to independently practice skills that are individualized to their learning interests. The Soft Start tubs allow each child to have a positive start to their day and learn while having fun! We are needing more items to rotate out our tubs so students are engaged and have more opportunity to explore various activities. Many of my students look forward to coming to school and ask to get to school earlier so they have longer to play with our Soft Start Tubs!

Soft Start tubs consist of hands-on STEAM activities.

All of these activities build upon student needs and interests while targeting fine motor, academic, and sensory skills. Soft Starts help build a classroom community and set the tone for a great day! Please help us get more of these activities into the hands of the sweetest kindergarteners!
