My third grade students are curious and excited to learn new things. They come to school ready to be engaged and challenged, and they work well together!
In my classroom, I strongly encourage my kids to take risks, ask a lot of questions, and push their thinking, all while having fun.
Within the teaching of math, reading, science, social studies, and writing, we incorporate small group work, sharing, problem solving activities, and building interpersonal relationships.
I love teaching and learning along with my third grade students. It makes me so happy to see their smiles and excitement when they have positive experiences in the classroom!
My Project
As my third graders enter the classroom, they are excited for what the day will bring. They want to share stories with me and their classmates, however, our daily schedule is very full. When the students first arrive in the morning, they need time to adjust to the new day and get their minds ready.
The materials requested will provide students with a variety of choices before beginning the academic part of the day.
These activities and materials available for our "soft start" will appeal to the different kinds of learners - visual or kinesthetic, for example, and will allow them to engage in hands-on, creative, and cooperative learning.
This "soft start" to our day will enable the students to get their minds ready to learn all they can and have fun doing it!
