Our small, community school serves roughly 140 students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. We are a Title I funded school with 100% of our students on free/reduced lunch. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in secondary education by learning to problem-solve and to strive for excellence in all aspects of life.
I teach 25 third graders that love being mobile to learn in a student-centered, fun way!
Each year, I have students that are excited and ready to learn. They come into the classroom each day expecting great things. I want to provide them with engaging and constructive activities.
My Project
Every school year I spend hundreds of dollars to cover many general items needed for my classroom. Until this year our school district did help us get some of the necessary supplies that make it easier to get through the year without going broke spending our own money. This year they have completed denied any spending Since these general items are still needed to ensure my students can do their soft start mornings, I can purchase them myself. This is where I need your help.
Soft starts allow students to being using their brains and focusing without them actually knowing their doing it.
I've found great success with this program this year and hope to continue it for next school year.
I am asking for items I need for the upcoming school year. Highlighters, pens, dry erase markers, a crate for materials (since a student accidentally fell and broke on last year), erasers, and pencils.
Your donation would not only be helpful for my students it would help me immensely. Thank you in advance for considering this project.
