Help me give my students some choice with flexible seating in our classroom. I encourage my students to find a love of reading and creating a warm and welcoming environment with Flex-space comfy floor seats does just that.
Our students come to us knowing they need help, and are willing to work hard each day. Over half of our Title 1 school is comprised of low income families. Our students look forward to coming to school to engage in learning experiences and activities each day with their peers and staff.
Our staff is strong and creative, making our materials to go far while looking for different ways help each learner.
We encourage our students to show their learning in diverse ways and to embrace their independence. We provide choices whenever we can and embracing a school wide feeling of inclusion and togetherness.
My Project
Flexible seating provides choice and ownership to students that they crave. These soft chairs will allow students to find cozy places to settle into books. Our classroom has only hard surfaces that can be uncomfortable for some students.
Soft chairs give students a way to relate reading to more than just something done in the classroom.
It can remind them of a favorite chair or couch at home. It can allow students to relax and to focus on what he/she is reading. Students love making choices, and giving them a controlled choice, such as where to sit, is an ideal way for students to feel confident and responsible as an active learner.
