Help me give my students all the materials they need to safely practice social distancing in our classroom. Students will be able to remain in their own space and have everything they need in one place!
My students come from a vibrant community in Central Virginia. Our caring network of families collaborate with our school to help students reach their fullest potential. However, many families face challenges at home including poverty, difficult journeys to the United States or multiple demanding jobs. Our school provides a positive environment for these students and I work to ensure they have access to a rigorous curriculum and the same learning opportunities as every other student.
My students are risk takers, critical thinkers, and multi-lingual speakers.
I work with students who come from many different cultures but love to work together to tackle any challenge that comes their way. Through math, science, and reading these student not only learn the classroom content but also learn to use a new language to discuss, argue, and explain their thinking.
My Project
As we return to the school together students will need to practice social distancing. The materials in this project like whiteboards and storage bins, and magnets will help students to keep everything they need at their desk. In the past we have shared a lot of our classroom materials but in this new environment I would love for every student to feel safe in our classroom by having all their materials in their own space.
While we may be socially distant we will not be distant in our classroom community.
Many of the books I requested in this project cover topics that students will have questions about as they return to school. My hope that through reading these books aloud we can discuss and learn from one another.
