Ms. Smith from Chesterfield VA is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students Lap Trays, Kurve Rocker seats, and Cando Yoga Mats for socially distanced flexible seating.

My school is a Title 1 school in Chesterfield, Virginia. It is one of the most ethnically diverse in our county with students representing more than 20 countries and approximately half of our students are bilingual. Many of the students have had to face challenges both inside and outside the school setting.
We are lucky to have wonderful programs at our school in place to help students realize their full potential and for families to get the resources they need to foster their child's success.
I am also hoping to create a fun and inviting environment in my own classroom where my students can continue to see their potential and learn and grow every day. Thank you for your commitment to helping me make a greater variety of resources available to our school and my classroom in order to bring amazing learning opportunities to all our students!
There has been a huge shift toward flexible seatings in classrooms. Data has shown that offering a choice in classroom seating is critical to enhancing learning across all ages. It helps keep young minds more alert, focused, and productive. With there being more of an emphasis on physical distancing this school year I am limited in the options I provide students. This project will help me offer each student their own socially distanced "island." Each student will get to roll out a Cando yoga mat in an area of their choice and they will use a Kurve Rocker and a lap desk while they work. This will allow them to wobble, rock, lay down, kneel or sit while working.
Your donations will help me create a more active, engaged, enthusiastic, and relaxed room of students.
In addition to the benefits of flexible seating, I want to be sure that my students can come back to a safe classroom environment. I chose these products because they can be easily sanitized after daily use to avoid spreading germs and they can be stored easily in the classroom.
