Help me give my students a comfortable outdoor learning environment. We need mats to sit on outside and to help us measure distance. We will use the dry erase boards and markers to share out answers and ideas.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students have done a great job with remote learning. But they are missing some of the fun, social elements of our regular school day. This year, we'll be doing a "hybrid" model where students do some learning at home, and some in person. We are lucky enough to have a football field at our school, so we'll be doing some outdoor learning for more safety.
We do some of our best learning when we can see and hear each other's ideas.
So we'll be using our in person school time to connect, share, and discuss.
My Project
With these project materials, we can safely and comfortably have our classes outside. We will use the mats to sit on our football field and learn at a distance from each other.
The mini dry erase boards will allow us to make a lot of our learning into games.
They will also help us to see each others' answers from a distance when we're sitting spread out. We'll be able to see and share ideas, give and get feedback and participate in discussions more easily. As we adapt to learning with our masks on, being able to write ideas in large format will help all of us with the challenges of socially distant learning.
