I want to guarantee that all my students are successful in and out of the classroom. With this new online way of learning, I want to make sure that I am able to provide quality instruction to my students. My students are with me the majority of the day, which allows me to really get to know them.
They are compassionate, thoughtful and eager to learn.
In addition, they often go out of their way to help other classmates. Because of this, I want to offer them some options for some free time they might earn during the day. Having some fun activities on hand during the winter months will let them have fun and let loose a little.
My Project
My students are being asked to use technology for longer stretches during the day, which can be both good and bad. I want to have some games and activities on hand for them to use on those rare occasions they can take a mental break from all of this technology. In addition I would like to have some treats on hand for students to enjoy with their game time.
There are many benefits to using this technology but I do think there is a lot of benefit from actually playing a good old fashion card game, fun game or board game.
Students need time to work on their social skills and providing them time to do this would go a long way in this day and age.
