My students need the best tools to encourage learning, collaboration and growth. We need a large world map, a globe, large sticky note pads, and a bookcase.
My students are from a small, close-knit community that believes and supports the success of the students. Middle school students are at the perfect age for trying new, different and exciting things. I want to provide my students with the tools and materials to explore their passions and become lifelong learners. I am blessed with curious, spontaneous and sincere students who make my job an adventure every day. They work hard every day and deserve the best tools to be successful not only in my classroom but in life.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The large world map is to help students visualize the world we talk about on a daily basis. It is vital for social studies students to know exactly where in the world we are learning about and this map will make it clear to the students. In addition to the large world map, the globe will help students understand the shape of our planet. In 6th grade geography students have to understand how the shape of our planet affects climate; this globe is a necessity for students to understand that difficult concept. I want to foster collaboration in my classroom and the large sticky note pads are a great way for students to write down and share ideas. Lastly, the bookcase will be able to hold my textbooks but also display pleasure reading materials for my students to read in their free time. The materials I am asking for my classroom and my students are to make successful social studies students.
