We are a low income school with many needs including resources.
With new standards hitting the state, resources need to be updated. My students have a desire to learn, but we need exciting ways to drive instruction. Our school could use extra hands on activities to meet the needs of all learners.
My Project
My students need resources to meet the new TN State Social Studies standards. The Resource box and libraries will help the students have hands on learning. With these resources, my students will be able to work with their small groups, independently read and respond, and take American History into their own hands. This will give the children opportunities to reenact, learn, listen, and share their ideas in a fun way. This will also help enrich students who can take the material to a higher level.
This project will change the culture of history in our classroom.
It will bring the past to life, and help the students understand at their own level. This will also give students the chance to choose reading materials to support what we are learning.
