This will be my first year teaching third grade for the School District of Philadelphia. I have been teaching in the district for four years. Funding can be limited, and I would like to provide the best tools for instruction for my future students.
My classroom is very diverse this year, and not all of my students have the resources and supplies that they need.
Every student deserves an equal opportunity, and I would love to give them a chance to feel like they have one!
My Project
My students deserve to learn the most they can. Social Studies and Science are two very important subjects, yet sometimes unfortunately it gets pushed aside because we have no books, resources, or technology to teach these subjects. Without the resources, students don't get the proper instruction that they need for these subjects.
In the school district of Philadelphia, we are required to teach Social Studies and Science, yet aren't given any materials or funding to do this.
It becomes hard to find resources with limited funding and materials. Funding this project would allow our students to have the resources they need to learn endless amounts of information. Scholastic magazines are so informative, and come with many resources that go along with it!! Not only does each student deserve this, but it will help them learn so much about our world! My class is very eager to learn on a daily basis, and the Scholastic News articles and Science Spin articles are excellent resources for their learning.
