Help me give my students books, games, and activities that will help to build their social skills and promote friendships with their same-age peers!

My students inspire me to achieve the best for them! I am a special education teacher at a public charter school in a low-income community. I primarily work with students in kindergarten, first, and second grade. My students find refuge in our school and our teachers go above an beyond every day to support them with basic essentials (food and clean clothing) and provide an education that inspires them to be life-long learners.
We encourage inclusion at our school to help our students identified with special needs to have more opportunities to be with their same-age peers.
I am delighted to see my group of students be able to make sincere connections with their peers despite their differences. In my classroom, we start fresh everyday and celebrate even the smallest of wins!
Many of my special education students require social skills instruction. These vital lessons are a huge part of their development and help them to continue to be included in the general education classroom. When I teach social skills, I include students from the general education classroom so my special education students get first hand experience in utilizing the social skills that they are learning. I plan fun and engaging activities for our small groups to engage in daily during the students' recess time.
I hope to use the social skills supplies to create more effective and engaging lessons for my students.
The books, games, and curriculum materials will help me to improve my social skills lessons and promote better results through the use of research-based materials. My students love their social skills lessons and find our small group to be a safe place for them to practice skills and build relationships with their same-age peers. I hope to continue to foster friendships and help my students to build skills that will be essential for them throughout life!
