Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am requesting are games and tools that students can use to learn how to practice taking turns and engage in conversations with others during Social Skills times during school hours.

The goal for this project is for my students to be able to wait patiently and play respectfully with each other playing games or using tools such as playdough/sand.

My students are diagnosed with Autism and one of the characteristics that students with Autism lack is the understanding of social skills in terms of how to properly play with each other. I use board games to teach my students how to take turns and wait patiently because they have a tendency not to understand those concepts. I also use play-dough and sand for the students to be able to create projects together to allow them to engage in conversation with each other on what to do next and so forth.
