I have a total of 22 students in my class from various backgrounds. Each possesses their own unique and special qualities which I am excited to learn more about throughout the school year. The area in which the school is located is experiencing a boom, which has positively contributed to the diversity at our school.
Each child in my class has a unique learning style.
Whether it be a more hands-on approach, visual, or auditory, all students are on different levels, from quick learners to students who master skills at a slower rate or pace. In addition, I have multiple native languages in my class, including French, Spanish, Gujarati, and English. Each student's traits and characteristics have made my classroom a truly wonderful place to learn.
The requested items will provide endless opportunities for my students to engage in conversation with one another and allow students to work collaboratively and cooperatively towards a common goal with their peers. My students are not given enough time throughout a given day to engage in social play. Thus, they need more tools to allow and encourage them to do so.
These board and card games will help build academic, life, and social skills.
Many of the requested items require students to rely on their knowledge of math or reading in order to perform well. Throughout each of these games, students are learning how to empathize with one another, how to work cooperatively, how to communicate with like-minded peers, and so much more!
If funded, I plan to use these items daily with my students. I look forward to giving them ample time in the mornings and even afternoons to engage with one another.
