Help me give my students access to mentorship, curriculum, project seed money for ongoing student-led social change, and a world-wide network of like-minded changemakers!
My students are inquisitive, driven, and creative. We spend each class period looking analytically at issues of modern and historical injustice, pop culture inaccuracies, and designing unique ways to address these problems.
My students are constantly using design thinking and project based learning in order to address the injustices they see in the world.
They inspire me daily with the ideas they come up with- from apps, to historical accuracy certification systems, to videos.
My Project
This project has been created to fund access to The Changemaker Project. The goal of the curriculum and virtual lessons that we will use is to empower students to explores social justice issues that are important to them, and give them design thinking training that will allow them to make the change they are passionate about. They will participate in inquiry around a multitude of social justice issues before settling on the one they are most passionate about.
Throughout the project, students will be able to collaborate and learn with other students across the world and have an intentionally paired expert professional mentor to guide them.
These extra eyes on their projects will enhance their ability to address the problems they are seeking to impact. Additionally, the potential for students to receive funding to continue their projects after the class is over is something that will enable our learners to create lasting impacts on their community and beyond.
