Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a third year teacher it is an honor working with first and second grade students. The students are English Language Learners and come from low-income families. With this in mind, it is important for all students to be provided with a high and enriching form of education.

I believe that every student in my classroom has a potential for greatness, and seeing their faces everyday, gives me hope in our near future.

This is why I am a teacher.

My Project

Every book has a story. Every story should be told and with these books, these stories are enriching and tell a beautiful story that carries meaning. Having students bring their voices when reading aloud is powerful. Listening to each child about how they can relate to these books is breathtaking.

These 50 books enhance the learning about equity and justice for all.

Social justice lessons with these books as reading aloud provides an opportunity to create culture circles and reflect on these stories. Applying practice into what these books mean to us and letting our families know about stories establishes a community.
