The Covid-19 pandemic has turned family kitchens into classrooms causing stress and strain on families. Many parents are now working simultaneously, doing the best to support their child's learning journey. This can be quite daunting as many of my students are special needs and/or in an urban school corporation.
My students are facing challenges in having equitable resources to support families and achieve their academic goals.
I miss my students and their families greatly, and I will do anything to support and provide for them with the tools to lift their spirits and lessen the load during this pandemic.
My Project
These new board games will help our students develop critical problem solving skills, academic concepts, turn taking, following directions, and emotional regulation. These games will encourage family board game night and allow the families to unwind and spend some quality time learning with their child.
The gift of board games will help students and families work together with cooperation and encourage a family game experience that and help their child develop critical thinking skills which will impact them during this pandemic.
My students may only be three, four and five, but I am always looking for new opportunities and ways to support them in their academic and social/emotional development pursuits. The more families feel supported and have equitable access to activities, the more the child will grow. Let's support these wonderful families with the gift of a board game that will help create memorable, fun memories with their child.
