This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our social-emotional guinea pigs are utilized in lessons centered around calming techniques, reading skills, and social skills! My students love reading and talking to Bailey and her sister! These items will help us continue to care for Bailey and her sister, Fur Baby. The gift cards will help us buy extra supplies as needed for them!

Studies have shown that animal therapy can benefit children in many ways including teaching self-control, calming techniques, and comforting them when they are sad or upset.

Class pets have also shown to be beneficial in the areas of social skill building, educational lessons on the life cycle, and teaching responsibility to young students. Thank you for considering my project!
