Help me give my students the social emotional lessons they need by providing kid friendly social emotional stories by Julia Cook. My students also have trouble sitting still so the wobble cushions will help them focus.
I am a Special Education Resource teacher. The students I work with have varying needs and abilities. My students come from low income families and have very little experience with the world around them. The area my school is in is considered a food desert since they don't have a grocery store in their community. They continue to work hard despite their disabilities and their background. My students have a variety of learning styles and need a lot of assistance and resources to be successful.
My Project
My special needs students struggle with social emotional behaviors. A lot of them do not know what is socially acceptable in a school setting. These kid friendly stories by Julia Cook will help me to create lessons for them so they can learn how to cope in their school environment. A lot of the students I see have short attention spans. They have a hard time sitting through a story or lesson. The wobble cushions will help them to sit in small group with me and be able to focus on the stories and the lessons I provide for them.
